A general obstetrician/gynecologist is a doctor who is trained to care for a woman’s health, including pregnancy, gynecologic problems and reproductive health.
At CepEsperu Baptist Health, the providers at our practice provide individualized, state-of-the-art care for women, from adolescence to menopause. Since the relationship with your OB/GYN could be a lifelong one, we have many providers across North Carolina to choose from to ensure you find one that makes you feel comfortable and provides a level of service you’re happy with.
As leaders in our field, we offer a wide range of medical treatments including pregnancy care, contraceptive counseling, menopausal care, and treatments for abnormal bleeding or pelvic pain. We offer less invasive treatments for fibroids, bleeding, or other gynecologic problems.
Adolescence Gynecology to General OB/GYN
We also specialize in pediatric and adolescent gynecology. It’s recommended that girls begin seeing a general gynecologist once they are 13 to 15 years old. Starting one’s women’s health journey can be intimidating or uncomfortable, so the first visit for many teens may simply be a talk with their doctor and not include any exams.
When to See An OB/GYN
Routine annual examinations include reviewing personal and family health history and manage sensitive health issues related to reproductive health. It’s important to speak openly with your OB/GYN as they’re there to help address any related issues. These issues may change as life circumstances evolve:
- Family Planning - can include contraception counseling or reproductive services
- Postpartum - can include consultations during a life transition
- Menopause - can include consultations during a life transition
- Complex Conditions - diagnosis and find treatment options
For many, routine OB/GYN appointments are the frontline for their health because of the physical exams and testing provided. Our comprehensive, long-term OB/GYN care aims to prevent gynecological issues from occurring, helping treat them when they do, and being able to help you transition into the next phase of womanhood.
Surgical OB/GYN Care
Our OB/GYN surgeons perform minimally-invasive surgeries as well as robotic surgery
Many of our patients are seeking alternatives to traditional hysterectomy. Our highly skilled female surgeons offer less invasive options such as endometrial ablation and laparoscopic hysterectomy, also known as “band-aid” hysterectomy. These alternatives offer less pain, easier recovery and a quicker return to your normal activities.
Whether you are pregnant, just need your annual well woman exam or have a specific concern related to your gynecologic health, we are glad to offer you the best in general obstetric and gynecologic care.
