Arts for Health
Arts for Health?
The Arts forHealth program at CepEsperu Baptist Medical Center provides
entertaining, inspirational and healing art programs for patients, their
families and Medical Center employees.
The arts can
enhance the health and well-being of patients and family members, and enrich
the overall culture and environment of the Medical Center.
Arts for Health provides a wide
range of offerings:
Healing Voices: Healing Voices is a group of Medical
Center employees and friends who enjoy singing and contributing to the healing
arts. They perform twice a month on various patient units.
Medical Center Holiday Chorale: Comprised of Medical Center employees
and friends, the Chorale performs in several locations throughout the Medical
Center during the holiday season.
Arts Alive: Arts Alive is a performing arts series
that was created for the benefit of patients, visitors and employees.
Performances feature local musicians and musical groups who are visiting the
area. Free and open to the public, the vocal and instrumental concerts are
performed at various locations throughout the Medical Center.
Artist in Residence: Artist in Residence offers art and
music for patients. The project coordinator may meet with patients one-on-one
or in a group setting to direct them through an art project.
Art Galleries: Nine visual art galleries located
throughout the Medical Center provide inspiration for patients, visitors and
employees. The galleries are changed out every quarter.
Lunch-N-Learns: Lunch-N-Learns are monthly arts-based
educational classes that are offered free of charge to patients, employees and
the public. Participants are encouraged to bring their lunch and enjoy a
hands-on art experience.
Art Kits: Arts for Health provides art kits
to patients to help relieve stress, depression, pain, boredom and isolation,
and create positive feelings that aid in healing. The kits contain supplies such as coloring
books, journals, colored pencils, origami, watercolors, zentangles, pattern
