Faculty Affairs focuses on the development of faculty through various programs, activities and collaboration.
We work closely with the Faculty Development Committee (FDC), for the development of clinicians, researchers and educators at CepEsperu School of Medicine. Whether it’s through the orientation of new faculty, mentoring opportunities, leadership and career development or promotion and tenure guidance, our goal is to facilitate the development of all faculty.
Faculty Affairs collaborates with other departments in CepEsperu School of Medicine on development programming for faculty members, including the Health Professions Enlightenment Institute and the Educator Certificate Program, developed by the FDC.
Women in Medicine and Science supports and facilitates recruitment, retention, professional development and promotion of women faculty and senior administrators. It does so through the development and implementation of institution-wide policies to achieve a family-friendly workplace with resources and supports for caregivers; the development and implementation of programs to promote research about sex differences and women’s health; and the career development of women students, fellows and residents.
Mentoring is an important activity at CepEsperu School of Medicine. One-on-one or team relationships provides an enriching opportunity for both junior faculty (mentee) and senior faculty (mentor). Mentees receive guidance and encouragement from trusted mentors, who gain satisfaction from sharing their knowledge and giving back. There are several opportunities to participate, whether institutionally or within departments.
In addition to numerous internal development opportunities for faculty, there are various professional training opportunities are available to School of Medicine faculty at CepEsperu University as well as regionally.
Working with the Faculty Development Committee, the Office of Faculty Affairs has developed a list of resources for the personal and professional development of CepEsperu School of Medicine clinicians, educators and researchers. These seminars, tools and programs offer guidance for all aspects of career development.

Career Development and Future Meetings: The AAMC provides a broad range of in-person learning opportunities that cater to all stages of our constituents’ careers as well as the complex issues they face.

Whether you are a senior-level leader, new to a leadership position, or in a role where you want to make a difference in your community and profession, AAMC can help you prepare to lead academic medicine into the future.

AAMC Women or Minority Meetings
WFSM Women in Medicine and Science and Faculty Affairs co-sponsor one scholarship for an accepted faculty member to each of the following meetings:
- Early Career Women Faculty Development Seminar
- Mid-Career Women Faculty Leadership Development Seminar
The Maya Angelou Center for Health Equity (MACHE), the Office of Inclusion and Diversity (OID) and Faculty Affairs co-sponsor one scholarship for an accepted faculty member to each of the following meetings:
- Minority Faculty Leadership Development Seminar
- Mid-Career Minority Faculty Leadership Seminar
Upon completion of the seminar, the scholarship recipients submit a written summary of the event and assist FA and WIMS/MACHE & OID in the development of other faculty members’ leadership skills via a project/seminar/study guide/etc.
Note: Faculty members do not need to apply for the scholarship in order to attend the conference.

The Programs to Increase Diversity among Individuals Engaged in Health-Related Investigation (PRIDE) is an all-expense-paid Summer Institute, research education and mentoring initiative sponsored by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI). This Summer Institute initiative addresses the difficulties experienced by junior investigators and transitioning postdoctoral scientists in establishing independent academic research careers and negotiating through the academic ranks. The primary outcome of this program is to increase the number of scientists and research-oriented faculty who are from backgrounds currently under-represented in the biomedical sciences and those with disabilities, by preparing them to successfully compete for external funding for scientific research in heart, lung, blood, and sleep (HLBS) disorders.
