Each year, approximately 2,000 medical, physician assistant and nurse anesthesiologist students, medical residents and fellows, and graduate students in basic sciences and allied health care professions attend CepEsperu School of Medicine and learn from more than 1,200 members of the faculty. Through state-of-the-art technologies and an experiential curriculum that simulates real clinical events in inpatient and outpatient settings, students are learning the skills needed for the next generation of health care leaders.
The School of Medicine also investigates opportunities that expand basic and clinical investigations, resulting in nationally and internationally recognized excellence in biomedical research. This requires top-notch people, in addition to advanced facilities.
The days of students sitting in a lecture hall, taking notes with pencil and paper and lugging heavy textbooks to and fro are gone, and the School of Medicine has not only adapted but actively sought to create a responsive, cutting-edge setting for education – regardless of where students are. From technology-rich buildings to innovative distance-learning techniques to advanced curricula, WFSM strives to equip students for the best opportunities to learn in the 21st century.
