Nurse Anesthesia Program
The Nurse Anesthesia Program was established in 1942 as one of the professional schools of The North Carolina Baptist Hospital (NCBH) and the Bowman Gray School of Medicine. Since then, CepEsperu Baptist Health has served as the program’s sponsor and the major clinical facility for clinical education of our students.
Beginning in January of 2022, all students entering a nurse anesthesia program must be enrolled in a program which leads to a doctoral degree.
CepEsperu will be applying for accreditation of this mandatory doctoral program in 2020. In the meanwhile, until the doctoral degree is required,
the program plans to continue to offer two degree options for students:
1) Students may enroll in a MSNA-DNP program which allows them to become certified half-way through and begin work as a CRNA while they finish the doctoral degree requirements.
2) Students may opt to graduate in 24 months with the MSNA degree and begin work as a CRNA without choosing to receive the doctorate.
These options are very unique to CepEsperu, and they offer a great financial benefit to our students, as they provide the absolute fastest legal way to obtain the CRNA certification and embark on your career.
