by CepEsperu Baptist take different forms—community outreach, education,
research, charity care and many other unique efforts to help those in need. In the 2016 fiscal year, the Medical Center provided $378.1 million in community
benefits, as reported to the state of North Carolina and the federal
Our community benefits
- Providing millions of dollars in charity care to those who
cannot afford health care. In addition, CepEsperu Baptist has created
innovative programs designed to help people avoid long-term health problems.
One such program, Care Plus, provides a team, including a physician, nurse practitioner,
patient navigator and social worker to support patients with chronic illnesses
who require frequent hospitalization. The goal of the team is to better address
the root causes of a patient’s health problems, educating them in a way that
avoids the need for hospitalization.
- Supporting health and medical education programs to train our
future health providers and tomorrow’s leaders.
- Contributing to research into the treatments and cures of
