Worker Health Expertise

C. Randall Clinch, D.O.
Associate Professor, Department of Family & Community Medicine

Clinch’s research examines issues concerned with mothers who return to full-time employment following childbirth.

He and his colleagues are working to gauge the impact of maternal work/family weaving strategies on maternal and child health. The long-term goal is to determine potential risks associated with various strategies, as well as to describe the patient-provider communication surrounding those strategies. Both the mother’s perspective and the provider’s perspective are studied.

Clinch was a co-investigator on the NHLBI-funded “GLAD Heart” study. He provided clinical practice guidelines in cholesterol and blood pressure management to community primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.
