Understanding Exercise Intolerance After Treatment For Cancer

What we are studying

The purpose of this research study is to observe the timing and effects of anthracycline-based chemotherapy on exercise capacity in cancer survivors. Ultimately, the information gathered from this study will help prevent exercise intolerance and create better methods for assessing the cardiovascular system in cancer patients.

Who is Eligible

  • Genders:
    • Women
  • Races:
    • White
    • African American
    • Asian
    • American Indian or Alaska Native
    • Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander
    • Other
  • All Ethnicities
  • Ages 40 - 65

Eligibility Criteria

  • Diagnosed with Stage I-III breast cancer
  • Began your cancer treatment 1-2 years prior to this study
  • Have received anthracycline based chemotherapy

What is involved

  • Verification of participant's medical history
  • Current medications
  • Identify any illness or injury that would prevent MRI or exercise testing.
  • CPET X 2
  • MRI X 2
