ANCHOR Study: Anal Cancer/HSIL Outcomes Investigation Study

What we are studying

The main purpose of this clinical trial is to see if screening and treatment of precancerous areas such as High-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (HSIL) in the anus can prevent anal cancer in patients with HIV.

    • American Indian or Alaska Native
    • Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander
    • Other
  • All Ethnicities
  • Ages 35+

Eligibility Criteria

  • • HIV infected • Never been vaccinated against HPV • Must not be pregnant and must agree not to become pregnant during the study • Have never been treated for anal HSIL • Must have HSIL present (we will determine this)

What is involved

  • • Visits to the clinic for screening and randomization and then every 6 months until study completion. Extra visits are possible. • Blood draws • Anal swabs • Pregnancy tests • Study procedure (High Resolution Anoscopy) • Questionnaires

Compensation

You will be paid $25 for an information visit and $100 for each subsequent visit until study completion
