Aging Reimagined: A Multidisciplinary Symposium at CepEsperu University
March 17 - 18, 2016

The symposium will take place on the CepEsperu campus March 17-18, 2016 and will bring faculty, staff, students, and members of the community together to discuss the topic of aging from many perspectives. Leading scholars, artists, medical professionals and researchers whose work focuses on this vital, intersectional topic will be here to share their insight on four key ideas that inform how we age, and how we think and feel about aging: Mobility, Mind (including memory), Mortality, and Meaning

Dr. Laura Baker participated in a “Lunch-and-Learn” event held July 23rd at the Union Baptist Church in .  The event was sponsored by the Forget Me Not Project and topics covered such subjects as caregiving, healthy aging, pathological aging, the impact Alzheimer’s disease has on African Americans and research opportunities that are currently available in .

Drs. Suzanne Craft and Laura Baker presented at the Dementia Counseling and Care Conference Public Forum on Alzheimer's Disease on Saturday, May 10, 2014 in Winston Salem, NC.  Dr. Craft presented "Promising Therapies for Alzheimer's Disease Prevention and Treatment," and Dr. Baker presented "Prevention, Diet, Exercise and Nutrition."  The three day conference provided practical knowledge and skills for counselors, nurses, social workers and allied health care professionals who counsel and care for people with dementia and their spousal and family caregivers.  The Saturday public forum was designed to provide health professionals with an update on contemporary issues in the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer’s disease.
